Organized by AusBiotech and Beacon Events, Asia Biotech Invest 2014 was Hong Kong’s biggest biotech showcase and deal-making event. HKBIO was a supporting organization. May 18-22, 2014

Led by Invest Hong Kong (InvestHK), a 35-member strong delegation from Hong Kong attended Israel Innovation Week 2014 in Tei Aviv, Israel. Prof Albert YU (Chairman of HKBIO) was also one of the delegates. Israel Innovation Week 2014 and its major highlight - MIXiii Israel Innovation Conference – was an event combining both business and government perspectives. There were a biomed and high-tech exhibition and various sessions covering topics of mutual interest to the entire advanced technology industries and outlook of innovation and R&D policy.

This unique occasion enabled the Hong Kong delegates, comprising government officials, representatives of technological organizations and businessmen, to participate in discussions, panels, product demonstrations and networking opportunities for new business co-operation, to interact with leading entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors, business leaders, startups and government officials, and to visit research facilities, in order to identify relevant partners and business opportunities between Hong Kong and Israel. Israel is Hong Kong’s second largest trading partner in the Middle East and Hong Kong is Israel’s fifth largest trading partner in Asia. Over 80 Israeli companies do business in Hong Kong. May 7 – 9, 2014

Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair took place from May 7 – 9, 2014 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. With about 230 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions participated in this year's fair, including first comers from Australia, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom, a great variety of medical products and related services were showcased.
