Poster Guideline - Hong Kong Biotechnology Horizons

General Requirement

  • Authors have to print out the poster
  • Poster Board Size: 1m(W) x 2m(H)
    • Printed poster must not exceed the height and width of the above mentioned
    • Do not display the abstract on single A4 sheet
  • Title:
    • Prepare a banner for the top of the poster indicating the abstract title, author(s) and affiliation(s)
    • Use lettering at least one-inch high

Exhibition Preparation

  • Date and Time:
    • Set-up: 23 – 24 Nov 2017, only before 8am or 6pm-7pm
    • Removal: 25 Nov 2017, 530pm - 630pm
  • Venue: Pre-function Hall, Charles K.Kao Auditorium, The Science Park
  • Poster boards allow for the use of double-sided tape only
  • Removal of all used tape would be highly appreciated
  • Limited tapes will be provided by the organizer for back-up
  • Be aware that you are responsible to set up the poster by yourself, no set-up service will be provided (Not applicable for commerical sector)

Suggested Guideline

Plan

  • Convert tables to graphic display
  • Avoid lengthy paragraphs and excessively complex tables
  • Place most significant findings at eye level
  • Place supporting data and/or text in the lower panels

Text

  • Arrangement:
    • A clear, simple, uncluttered arrangement
    • Headings or subheadings are recommended
  • Font Size:
    • At least 30 points or larger
    • Legible from a distance of approximately 1.5 meter
  • Image and Photo:
    • Large enough to be seen clearly at 6 feet
    • Simple and eye-catching
    • Unnecessary details should be left out

Colour

  • Black text on white background
  • Dark blue on white
  • White on black
  • White on blue

The Organizer

Founded by pioneering scientists with extensive life science backgrounds and multi-cultural experience in research and development, engineering and business, the vision of the Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization is to establish and facilitate a worldwide platform for the Hong Kong biotech industry, promoting awareness, encouraging and enabling international collaboration and providing informed opinion and technical advice to government bodies, healthcare institutions and the general public.

Established and registered under Cap. 151 of the Societies Ordinance (CP/LIC/SO/19/57868), HK20 are dedicated to influencing the Hong Kong society with positive attitude to welcoming the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of HKSAR. We aim to promote participation, to transmit positive energy and to structure a harmonious society through celebrations and events. Our ultimate goal is to constitute the biggest and the most dazzling birthday party by getting every single individual in Hong Kong involved.
