The Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization is an independent non-profit organization, recognised as a charity under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.
HKBIO was founded by pioneering scientists with broad life science backgrounds and multicultural experience in research and development, engineering and business. We promote best practice and awareness across the biotechnology industry, and offer added value to members — students, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry bodies and representatives of the public and private sectors.
We are building a worldwide platform for Hong Kong’s biotech industry, encouraging international collaboration, and providing informed opinion and technical advice to government bodies, healthcare institutions and the general public.
To be the recognised peak industry body representing the biotechnology sector of Hong Kong and China — fostering leadership, partnership networks and knowledge growth.
We pursue this by establishing a worldwide platform for Hong Kong’s biotech industry, promoting awareness, enabling international collaboration and advising government, healthcare institutions and the public.
To develop, cultivate and promote the professional and institutional disciplines of biotechnology in Hong Kong and China.
We build relationships with experienced practitioners in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals worldwide; run education and training programmes, seminars, conferences and exhibitions across the Greater Bay Area; and provide a membership forum for collaborative solutions — a lifelong resource for the region’s biotech community.
HKBIO is the strategic partner of GBABA, which connects biotech companies, scientists and institutions across the 11 cities of the Greater Bay Area. All HKBIO members also receive GBABA membership.
