Council Member: Mr. Albert H.K. WONG

Mr. Albert Wong joined Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) in 1 February 2016 as the Chief Corporate Development Officer to lead the development of 5 technology clusters to drive for application development along the 3 platforms of Healthy Ageing, Robotics and Smart City.  He is also in charge of IT as well as strategic planning and research units for defining the roadmap and enabling technologies that will enable HKSTP to achieve its vision and mission. He was appointed CEO of the Corporation on 1 August 2016
 
Albert holds a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hong Kong and a MBA from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Albert has over thirty years of commercial experience roles with various global enterprises.  With fifteen years in GE, he has taken various leadership roles as US Headquarters, China and Asia Regional.  His expertise are in the areas of Business Operation, R&D, Manufacturing, Mergers & Acquisitions.  Prior to GE, Albert has spent years with various multinationals including Schlumberger, Caterpillar, Emerson Electric, and Perkin Elmer.   Recently, he also served as CEO of ATAL Engineering in Hong Kong.
 
With strong knowledge and connections with technology partners across the fields of electronics, sensing & industrial solutions; oil & energy systems; scientific instrumentation; and construction & environmental engineering, Albert will steer the development of HKSTP.  The main goal is to drive towards expanding our vibrant ecosystem of innovation and technology industry in Hong Kong, and facilitate the development of disruptive technologies that will benefit the society.
