HKBIO co-organized this Exchange Tour with the China Association for Science and Technology (Shen Zhen), which attracted more than 80 participants from the academia and the biotechnology industry. The tour involved visits to various Shenzhen biotechnology research institutes as well as an exchange session with major scientific officers in the Shenzhen Government. It offered an invaluable chance for biotech experts in Hong Kong to learn about the city's biotech development, and had helped to strengthen ties between the biotech industry of Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Participants had found the tour to be extremely fruitful.

HKBIO’s Honorary Chairman Prof. Yuk-Lam LO provided a seminar for HKUST biochemistry students to introduce the past, present and future of Hong Kong’s biotechnology development, together with career opportunities of the local industry. Through the seminar, students were educated more about the industry and how they could commit in a biotech career.

Montreal International is a non-profit organization which promotes and enhances the economic development of the Montreal Region in Canada, which is excelled at cancer research. HKBIO met with their representative to share industry information and had gained understanding of the technology infrastructure at Montreal.

HKBIO has submitted a written letter to the Legislative Council Bills Committee to express our support on the Bill, and is available to provide for effective participation in any future legislation administration or policy measures concerning biotech development in Hong Kong.
